Job Purpose and Impact

The Equipment Operator I, will perform tasks of a substantial variety or complexity, which require knowledge of operating small and large equipment in various environments with basic skills and frequent guidance. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of a variety of heavy equipment while following all regulations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Communicate frequently throughout the day with supervisor or lead to understand their work schedule and flow for the workday.
  • Operate 1 or 2 pieces of equipment in support of the work being completed on site.
  • Operate equipment efficiently and safely with some supervisor oversight and direction on most terrains and in most conditions.
  • Know and perform daily equipment inspections, prior to operation, to ensure equipment is safe and fully functional.
  • Understand and communicate with equipment hand signals for safe operating in occupied zones or areas.
  • Understand and adhere to all of the environmental regulations of the site and ensures their work site is cleaned up after completion of the task.
  • Observe and follow all safety regulations and rules for each piece of equipment being operated.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • ITI/Diploma in Mechanical
  • 5-7 years experience
  • Experience working in edible oil refinery
