Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible to operate packaging equipment and all other associated production equipment to produce quality product in a safe and efficient manner including box case erector, product filler, case sealer, case labeler, chilling equipment and palletizer.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform minor maintenance on this equipment.
- Assist maintenance with PM’s and/or repairs as needed.
- Perform line changeovers and quality checks as required.
- Read and interpret the production schedule.
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations(including food safety policies and procedures)
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
- Cargill requires employees to be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to learn production, maintenance and inventory management systems.
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
- Prior experience working in a production or plant environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Experience with production Human Machine Interface systems (HMI)
- Inventory systems knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating forklifts and/or similar equipment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Excel and Word
