Site Leading Hand
The Role
In this hands-on role you will execute the site’s daily and weekly priorities and directly lead the team members onsite, ensuring they are trained and competent to perform duties across all areas of operation including but not limited to harvest receivals, grain classification, stack building, tarping, site hygiene, grain outturn including road and rail operations and general bunker operations. You will ensure work priorities are safety executed whilst maintaining a focus on quality and cost controls.

Job Purpose and Impact
Lead daily operations at grain storage facilities, focusing on safety, efficiency, and training. Ensure high safety standards, inventory control, and operational efficiency. Primarily on-site execution (90%) with some administrative tasks (10%).
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and ensure safe, efficient site operations.
- Manage product receiving, storage, and outturn.
- Train and supervise staff and contractors.
- Implement risk management and inventory programs.
- Assist with operational planning and scheduling.
- Support maintenance and reliability programs.
- Provide supervisory support during peak periods and site management absences.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Secondary education
- Ability to accept new or changing work demands
- Ability to supervise employees and administer operational training on Work Instructions (WIs)
- Reliability and Quality Culture
- Ability to be hands on
Preferred Qualifications
- Up to one year’s experience within the grain industry or bulk material handling sector.
- Experience with heavy plant and equipment, tractors, front end loaders, conveying systems etc
