This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Milling and Utilities Production Supervisor will provide strategic operational oversight for the corn wet milling production and utilities for the Hammond, Indiana Specialty Starches Processing site. In this role, you will oversee and hold your team accountable to standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee corn wet milling production and utilities for multiple shifts ensuring your team is following policies and procedures related to employee, food safety and environmental compliance.
- Partner with environment, health and safety and food safety, quality and regulatory experts to identify the most effective approach for implementing and monitoring corporate safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee production outcomes, quantity and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications.
- Partner collaboratively with cross-functional partners such as merchandising, production scheduling, and maintenance teams ensuring communication and connectivity for department needs. Work with engineering and plant management to provide input into the development of plant capital investment strategies.
- Ensure ongoing review of training and development of team needs, and key performance indicators with focus on continuous improvements in site operational targets.
- Develops and oversees operational plans and monitors routine operations for all production processes for multiple departments, processes and shifts.
- Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of four years of related work experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule or on-call as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous supervisory experience
- Three or more years for manufacturing experience
- Experience working with a union team
