Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior HR Business Partner helps drive the Cocoa & Chocolate plant health and performance by delivering solutions to complex people processes. Key process areas include people and culture strategy, engagement, workforce planning, labor relations and union negotiations, compliance and investigations, and performance & talent development. This role provides day‑to‑day guidance, developmental support, and thought partnership to a more junior HR Business Partner in another location. Additionally, the role will work with HRBP teams, COEs, and key stakeholders to advise, drive strategy, influence client groups on issues involving but not limited to people strategy, employee and union relations, organizational development and leadership, and analyzes metrics to provide solutions etc. A critical member of the site leadership team, this role also connects with HR colleagues supporting the cocoa & chocolate plants in Pennsylvania (2) and Ontario, Canada (2), to learn, share and foster alignment. 

Key Accountabilities

  • BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP: Partners with key leaders on the execution of complex local people and culture plans for the Milwaukee plant as well as provides thought-partnership on broader opportunities across Cocoa & Chocolate NA (i.e talent strategy) with the Regional Operations Leader also based in Milwaukee 
  • SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION: Partners to develop and implement solutions to improve performance, engagement, recruiting and retention to increase productivity and mitigate people risks while also building an inclusive culture. 
  • HR SUPPORT: Responds to employee and manager inquiries received on site and identifies themes, triages everyday grievance matters, partners with essential teams to investigate serious and sensitive matters and manage on site audits. 
  • UNION: Primary point of contact for Union and plays an active role in CBA negotiations 
  • PROGRAM EXECUTION: Deploys workforce plans, learning programs, talent acquisition activities and other talent programs and projects at the location. 
  • OPERATIONAL PROCESSES: Implements complex plant HR operational processes including time and attendance, employee or labor relations, and benefits administration processes to support the overall compliance and effectiveness of the HR operational processes of the plant. 
  • METRICS & ANALYSIS: Leverages complex reports and dashboards to measure, manage and analyze human resources and business performance metrics at plant locations. 
  • ACTIVITY DEPLOYMENT: Serves as location lead to drive local deployment of related activities and partners across the teams to best serve the client. 
  •  DIVERSITY Communicate and champion diversity, equity and inclusion policies and practices in plant locations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 or more years of relevant experience as an HR Business Partner. 
  • Experience in a manufacturing/warehousing/production environment  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies. 
  • Experience working with labor unions and contract negotiations strongly preferred 
  • Experience in investigations and compliance
