Seasonal Harvest Operator

Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Harvesting salt and supporting processing operations
- Performing pre-operational and safety inspections on assigned equipment
- Greasing, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment
- Reporting equipment damage, malfunctions, or repair needs
- Assisting the Wash Plant Operator in maintaining efficient salt processing operations
- Washing down salt buildup and clearing accumulations from conveyors and rollers
- Collecting washed and unwashed salt samples every two hours under normal operating conditions
- Moving gantry systems to maintain salt stockpiles
- Moving and managing water lines
- Troubleshooting minor water pressure and valve operation issues
- Performing housekeeping and manual labor tasks as needed - Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
- Understanding and adhering to all policies and procedures
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to perform physical job duties including: bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in awkward positions; with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments that may include: heat, cold, dust, noise and other environmental conditions; while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to operate machinery and industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work at elevations of 4 feet or higher
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts with advance notice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous heavy equipment operating experience
- Experience operating loaders, haul trucks, dump trucks, tractors, or forklifts
- Experience working in industrial, mining, agricultural, construction, or manufacturing environments
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
