Junior Forwarder (1-year temporary contract)

Job Purpose and Impact
The Junior Forwarder will be responsible for the execution of cocoa bean contracts, trade execution activities, shipment execution, supplier and customer interaction, process improvements, data management & document handling. The junior forwarder will continuously keep track and make sure the execution is done in a timely, cost-efficient and time-convenient way, honoring the contract and trading rules and find a good balance between executional practices and commercial decisions. In this role, you will conduct contract execution, data management, reporting and analysis, shipping, client interaction, business partnership and people, resource, budget and project management.
Key Accountabilities
• Execution of cocoa bean contracts under basic and complex trading rules.
• Freight Execution (container and bulk) for transport of goods from origin to destination.
• Responsible for proper, time- and cost-efficient execution and related administrative tasks.
• Evaluate, select and foster ongoing relationships with external suppliers and transport providers.
• Use comprehensive knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry to make recommendations to establish good customer relations.
• Perform data entry updates using spreadsheets and databases based on sales orders and contracts, interpret and analyze data and communicate results to more senior team members for further analysis.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years of related work experience
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of cocoa trading rules (FCC rules)
• Experience in SAP (TC2)
• Experience in trade execution, preferably cocoa
