Principal Accountabilities
- Live receiving and recording of scheduled birds coming into plant for slaughter
- Registered with state for weighing live poultry
- Adhere to Packers and Stockyard instructions for weighing Live Poultry
- Maintain effective communication with department staff, effectively anticipate slaughter
needs, and adjust slaughter schedule as needed - Assist supervisor in the implementation of EHS procedures within the department
- Monitor for cleanliness of lot, sheds, trailer wash, and trucks
- Fill in for supervisor working other shifts/when needed to cover for absences
- Check loaded trailers to ensure birds are contained humanely (all parts inside cage, fans
on when needed, no live birds on ground) - Report any seen damage to trailers
- Train new employees and assist with other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass all driver requirements
- Must be able to communicate in English (read/write/speak) and have good communication, math and
computer skills - Must be able to work in cold, wet, dry, and hot environments
- Must have good backing skills with a tractor trailer
- Demonstrated professional working relationships and has the ability to interact effectively with production
management, QA, USDA, accounting, live side, feed mill and all outside contractors - Good attendance, work performance, work relationships and safety records
- Must be able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous production/farm experience
- Previous Cargill experience
- Work history in the past 12 months
