Job Purpose and Impact

The Technology Services Sourcing Category Advisor provides enterprise leadership in defining and executing Cargill’s sourcing strategy for staff augmentation, project services, and managed technology services. The successful individual in this role demonstrates the ability to transform complex business needs into clear strategic direction, ensuring sourcing decisions directly enable the priorities of the technology and procurement organizations. The role curates and manages a high‑value portfolio of service engagements, driving cost optimization, performance transparency, and measurable business impact.

As a senior thought partner, this role brings deep market insight, commercial expertise, expert negotiation and sourcing leadership to elevate organizational capability. The successful individual strengthens stakeholder alignment, advances supplier performance, and continuously improves sourcing processes and commercial constructs. Through strong internal influence and external networks, the role ensures Cargill remains at the forefront of sourcing innovation and delivers sustained strategic advantage across Cargill’s global technology ecosystem.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide leadership to large, complex sourcing events and negotiations.

• Develop and maintain an active portfolio of engagements, associated costs and potential savings drivers.

• Design, plan and implement strategies to measure the performance and impact of sourcing initiatives.

Educate technology leaders on sourcing best practices and ongoing developments to drive domain capability improvements and accomplish strategic goals of the technology and  procurement organizations.

• Provide advanced market and industry knowledge, expert subject matter and thought leadership to technology and procurement leadership and development support to colleagues within Technology Sourcing and   technology functions.

• Develop and maintain appropriate external networks to ensure Cargill access to the latest sourcing practices, commercial constructs, tools and processes

• Provide innovative and high-quality strategy, organizational, financial and operational support to business or functional leaders and be accountable for centralizing issues and identifying those responsible for resolving problems and issues related to business operations.

• Provide thought leadership to develop and monitor financial analysis of strategic projects and drive the implementation of the projects to ensure related actions create value in line with business priorities.

• Develop research and implement projects that will concur to portfolio diversification and leverage expertise across the organization, partnering with other business groups on joint projects.

• Contribute to the development of long-range objectives and strategic plans for the Technology and Procurement functions by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability.

• Provide fact-based analysis which may include conducting industry studies to determine business expansion opportunities, analyzing operating and financial results of internal businesses as well as competitors and evaluating major capital expenditure proposals.

• Ensure that effective and modernized communications help to strengthen long term relationships with customers and monetize the business or function's competencies and services.

• Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading contingent and project services labor programs
  • Subject matter expertise in developing and managing complex outsourcing agreements
  • Proficient with data and digital applications
  • Strategy and project management experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Vendor Management System (VMS) implementation and ongoing VMS operational support
  • Experienced leadership to supplier management and governance programs

Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $165,000-$210,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
