This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions. 

Job Purpose and Impact

The Grain Origination Representative will, with guidance, conduct grain origination activities and support the sale of various grain marketing solutions, and promote our advisory services. In this role, you will conduct face to face and over the phone sales with new and existing customers, assist in evaluating customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Help identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships.
  • Focus on competitively positioning commodity offers in local cash markets to efficiently source them through our processing facilities and surrounding export facilities while focusing on maximizing profitability for both customers and the company.
  • With guidance conduct market research and pricing, sales and merchandising activities.
  • Protect, grow and diversify the relationship with targeted customers.
  • Support business growth by disseminating favorable information about the organization and its products and services.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience 

  • Possess a valid, full Canadian Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field  

  • Strong interest in agriculture  

  • Previous sales experience  

  • Experience using customer relationship management software
