Job Purpose and Impact
The EHS Lead Italy will provide strategic leadership and mitigate risks at the sites in collaboration with operations and the business. In this role, you will ensure compliance and conformance to local and federal regulations and company environmental and safety programs. You will also manage change and continuous improvement as transitions occur to the future state and continue to evolve to a higher level of maturity. In addition to country-level responsibilities, this role will have direct EHS leadership responsibility for the Sospiro plant, ensuring compliance, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives at site level while driving the overall EHS strategy across Italy.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with business and operations to build partnerships and effective workforce engagement.
- Lead the country environmental health and safety organization to be an effective enabler to ensure prevention of serious EHS events.
- Develop a strategic risk profile for the country through identification of hazards, ranking and risk mitigation.
- Provide support for implementation of management systems, global and site specific programs including the non operational functions.
- Create a learning environment and encourage continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive change in the new organization structure.
- Lead all RSPP activities for the Sospiro plant while providing strategic EHS leadership across Italy, ensuring alignment between site operations, regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Industrial or related Engineering discipline).
- Minimum requirement of 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Professional proficiency in English
- RSPP qualification
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industrial/manufacturing experience within a similar industry.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Availability to travel as required.
- Previous people management experience.
- Experience working within a multinational organization.
- Multi-site EHS management experience.
Compensation
The expected salary for this position is 55,000€ – 70,000€. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
