This position is in our Food Enterprise where we are committed to serving food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a complete range of innovative ingredients and branded products. Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.

Job Purpose and Impact

As Account Manager you will manage key customers in the bakery, chocolate, confectionery, ice cream and sweet dairy segments, primarily in the DACH region.


In this role, you will work with a diverse and complex product portfolio (including cocoa and chocolate, fats and oils, starches, sweeteners, and texturizers). You will act as a trusted partner, helping customers succeed through tailored ingredient solutions while driving profitable, sustainable growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customers and drive growth and profitabiltiy
  • Build strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact
  • Identify and execute upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Develop and deliver account plans, forecasts, and pipeline management
  • Lead contract negotiation and commercial agreements
  • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, supply chain and customer service teams
  • Translate market insights and customer needs into actionable business strategies
  • Deliver value-added ingredient solutions to your customers
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, trade fairs and industry events
  • Travel ~25% of the time

Qualifications

  • Master Degree in Business Economics or Food/Bio-Technology or related field
  • Background in food ingredients, commodities, specialty ingredients or similar sectors
  • Strong experience in sales, negotiation and customer relationship management
  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based customer relationships
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to balance customer needs and business objectives
  • Experience in account planning, pipeline management, and forecasting
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to identify and execute growth opportunities (upselling and cross-selling)
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong execution and results orientation
  • Ability to navigate complexity and adapt to changing market dynamics
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Analytical thinking and confident decision-making
  • Fluency in German and English
