This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Factory Director will provide strategic operational oversight for all significant and highly complex production and operating processes for a single plant. In this role, you will be accountable for standards aligned to safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and ensure safe operations of complex production and operating facilities, maintaining compliance with regulatory and corporate safety and environmental standards.
- Oversee consistent, high-quality execution of multiple products across various production lines, promoting reliability-centered manufacturing practices.
- Manage strategy execution, compliance, and oversight of capital and operating budgets, including capital investment projects and spending in high asset utilization environments.
- Accountable for the factory’s operating P&L and initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainable financial performance.
- Drive strategic implementation of operational efficiency programs for products spanning multiple geographies, business units, and customer segments.
- Foster a culture focused on building, operating, and maintaining facilities that are safe, efficient, and operationally sound. Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Performance Enablement and Reliability Excellence.
- Develop plans and deliver results in dynamic business or regulatory environments. Lead and support a team of professionals and supervisors through coaching, talent development, and performance management.
- Collaborate with organizational leaders to ensure staffing decisions align with current and future business needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in food manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
- Background in budgeting and operations planning.
- Experience managing large teams at a senior level.
