Job Purpose and Impact
The Innovation Strategy Leader will promote the use of industry leading practices, facilitate collaboration and develop a network of insight and innovation leaders and practitioners to support Cargill businesses in developing capabilities for our customers. This role will have a direct impact on the development of new or improved research and development projects to support customer success. As part of a cross-functional team, this role is a strategic partner to strategy, commercial, sales, and marketing teams to develop long-term innovation pipelines. In this role, you will provide advanced knowledge and guidance to drive superior business and innovation results while creating learning opportunities to accelerate performance. You will collaborate with business partners to lead innovation and marketing to develop scalable offerings.
Key Accountabilities
- Plan and lead business maturity and needs assessments to identify opportunities to organize for growth and accelerate innovation performance.
- Synthesize needs across businesses and functions to inform and align program and service offering development.
- Create and execute workstreams and project plans using advanced knowledge while incorporating industry leading best practices.
- Provide subject matter expertise and serve as the key point of contact for the dissemination of external industry leading practices within the organization.
- Lead and support coaches and ambassador programs as well as the broader innovation community and communities of practice and develop and maintain a network of key stakeholders to drive organizational alignment.
- Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

This position is open to working from the global headquarters in Wayzata, MN OR remote from home office from anywhere in the United States.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
- Ability to occasionally flex work schedule to accommodate global time zones
- Previous business consulting, or product development or business development experience
- Experience in leading innovation, or marketing, or market insights or business development projects across multiple lines of business or geographies
- Minimum of six years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or other post-secondary degree
- Experience developing and leading global initiatives and innovation operations
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience leading or coaching innovation project team members
- Independently identify and propose solutions to improve overall innovation process flow
Compensation Data
The expected salary for this position is $180,000-200,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
