Job Purpose and Impact
The Trade Compliance Sr. Analyst will ensure that Cargill's import and export activities comply with all applicable international trade regulations and standards, with a focus on customs classification. This role involves accurately classifying goods using the Harmonized System (HS), maintaining robust documentation, and mitigating risks associated with misclassification. The analyst will collaborate with internal stakeholders and leverage trade compliance systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness.
We offer possibility to work remote 3 days per week after implementation period.
Key Accountabilities
- Accurately classify goods using the Harmonized System (HS) and other relevant classification systems in compliance with international trade regulations.
- Interpret and apply complex classification rules, including General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), explanatory notes, and binding rulings.
- Maintain comprehensive and auditable classification records, including supporting documentation and rationale for decisions.
- Monitor and assess changes in classification rules and customs regulations and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and update trade compliance documents and procedures, monitor compliance of processes according to regulatory standards, assess risks, and execute and monitor controls, perform impact analysis coming from regulatory updates impacting Cargill cross border operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as logistics, procurement, and legal to ensure consistent and compliant classification practices.
- Provide training and guidance on customs classification to internal teams and support the development of classification expertise across the organization.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews of classification processes to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize global trade management systems (e.g., SAP GTS) to manage and streamline classification workflows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customs or trade compliance, with a focus on a classification.
- Ability to interpret customs specifications and classifications rulings.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (economic, logistic, financial) or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade documentation.
- Experience managing SAP GTS.
